*All Bookings are made directly with the hotel, when you decide to book you will be asked to complete a brief booking form which will be sent directly to the hotel. The hotel staff will then contact you back with a personal quotation and confirmation of availability as soon as possible. Please understand that during the off season it may take a little longer for the hotel to respond as there will only be a skeleton staff during this period.
Unlike many other retreats, we never cancel retreats due to low numbers so, once your booking is confirmed by the hotel, you are safe to book flights and make your other arrangements without any fear of the retreat not going ahead.
For your health and safety we do not currently offer room sharing for solo travellers. If you wish to share a room with somebody, it is your responsibility to find, organise and vet your choice of room-mate and you must both book the retreat at the same time. You can read more about this in our FAQs here.

Please note that the amount of available rooms on single basis is limited.
Why go on retreat?
Taking the time to go on a Retreat is one of the best ways to care for yourself, it is an excellent way to break free of old, destructive behaviour patterns that no longer serve you, release self- judgements, let go of fears and encourage yourself to change, heal and live more self sustainably. It gives you time to focus on yourself, your needs and what makes you happy.
If you are feeling physically, mentally or emotionally stressed, and whether you are new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, you can benefit both physically and emotionally from coming on a retreat. By committing more time, space and energy to yourself on retreat, your practice you will advance on both physical and emotional levels and you will leave feeling more relaxed, renewed and energized. Retreats allow you to go deeper, leaving behind the usual distractions of our everyday life and arrive into a new space of self-reflection and acceptance.
Each morning begins with a class focusing on yoga postures (asana) and Pranayama (breath), working mindfully and with a beginner’s playful curiosity, coming into being totally aware of the sensations of the physical body, and making subtle adjustments within each position to learn how to be able to listen intently to what the body is needing.
In the afternoons you can continue working with the theme in your own time, or book a one to one mentoring session to discuss your experiences with the practice. Or alternatively you can get out and about or take one of the optional excursions on offer.
In the early evening there will be a themed mindfulness practice followed by a guided Yoga Nidra, meditation and time for group discussion and further explanation on each of the practices and how you can apply them in everyday life. Mindfulness Practice has been demonstrated to have significant benefits on physical, emotional and holistic health.
“Mindfulness is an incredible tool to help people understand, tolerate, and deal with their emotions in healthy ways. It helps us to alter our habitual responses by taking pause and choosing how we act. When we are mindful, we experience our life as we live it. We experience the world directly through our five senses. We taste the food we are eating. We recognize the thoughts we are having. In doing so, we learn how our minds work, and we are better able to label the thoughts and feelings we are having, instead of allowing them to overpower us and dictate our behaviour.“ – Lisa Firestone, Ph.D in Psychology Today
The exact schedule is set by Alex, the retreat leader, and can vary according to weather and other circumstances.
At Galanias Hotel there is a beautiful dedicated Yoga Shala, the classes are either held in the Shala, on an private terrace area, or on the beach at sunrise and sunset.
What’s the vibe like?
This retreat will suit anyone interested in Mindfulness, self reflection and deep relaxation or for those looking for a quiet retreat with smaller numbers. Like going back in time to a more peaceful, quieter and simpler way of life. This is a peaceful, mindful retreat in a region of Sardinia well known for it’s vineyards and the local red wine, Cannonau, which is made from the grape variety of the same name that is native to the area. The people of Ogliastra are passionate about their traditions and there are festivals throughout the year celebrating their history, culture and cuisine. Our retreat groups are usually small, between 1 and 15 people, we prefer to be able to work in small groups so everyone gets our full attention! It also means that you have more time to address any specific issues you may have with your practice, in a safe and compassionate atmosphere. You might even get a completely personalised retreat as we never cancel our retreats due to low numbers.
We strongly recommend hiring a car for the duration of your stay, there is so much wonderful scenery to see here, and the roads are generally quiet if a little curvy and interesting!
